Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Penny Cole and I am a counsellor, psychotherapist and mediator offering counselling and mediation services for Basingstoke, Aldershot, Fleet, Farnborough, Guildford and other parts of North Hampshire and Surrey.
As you are reading this, you are probably looking for help in resolving problems or difficulties that are becoming troublesome and difficult to bear.
Are you feeling down or depressed? Are you going through a divorce and finding it difficult to cope with your feelings? Perhaps you are struggling with difficulties at your workplace, feeling overwhelmed or unable to get along with your manager or colleagues. Have you been dismissed, or made redundant? Do you find yourself getting into relationships that are unsupportive and leave you feeling drained or dissatisfied? Do you find yourself turning to food or drink to make yourself feel better?
Depression, anxiety, anger, fear, jealousy, problems with insomnia, money, sex or work, loss and addiction can leave you feeling overwhelmed and stuck. They can be too difficult to overcome on your own, and you may find that talking to friends and family is not giving you the relief you want and need.
Are you bogged down with your attempts to resolve a problem with a neighbour, or at your workplace, or elsewhere, and thinking about starting legal action? Would you consider mediation as a means to secure a resolution to the difficulty without the need for costly court proceedings?
Through talking about your problems with someone who listens carefully to what you are saying, in a safe and confidential environment, it can be possible to shift your burden so that you can get on with your life.
You may be feeling a little frightened or apprehensive at the thought of seeing a counsellor or psychotherapist, but it is the first step that can lead you to getting control back over your life, your love, your work.
The prospect of meeting your opponent at a mediation may seem daunting, but the process is designed to be informal and one in which you retain control over the final decision as to what you would find acceptable in resolving the issue.
If you are interested in exploring matters further you can either email me or telephone me for a short conversation in complete confidence or to arrange an exploratory meeting of one hour at which we can get to know each other and decide if we feel comfortable with working together.
